Season Opener:
Detective Goren returns from leave, when a police officer on "stakeout" is shot dead in his car. Detective Eames remembers him from being her late husband, Joe's former partner the day he was murdered on undercover duty 9 years ago. During the course of the investigation she is forced to re-live her pain when Detective Goren finds inconsistancies in the conviction of his killer.
